Disgruntled Republican Takes Trump Hate To Court

A federal judge in Virginia will hear a lawsuit brought by a Republican delegate who does not want to cast his vote for Donald Trump at the party’s convention later this month. Carroll Correll filed the lawsuit last month, seeking to challenge a state law that requires delegates to vote on the first ballot for the candidate who secured Virginia’s primary. Correll, who was co-chair of Sen. Ted Cruz’s campaign in his district, says the law violates his right to vote his conscience. “Donald Trump has shown through his words and his actions that he is eminently unqualified for office,” Correll told the Washington Post. The lawsuit is part of a coordinated effort by many disgruntled Republican delegates, who have rallied under the banner of “Never Trump.”
