Lawyers Shine In ‘People v. O.J. Simpson’

FX’s new show, “The People vs. O.J. Simpson,” recaps the 20-year-old murder trial of the former football star. And – predictably, as the 10-episode series is based on former prosecutor and New Yorker legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin’s book, “The Run of His Life,” – its main focus is on the lawyers and their task through the sensational trial. The actual murders are not shown on the television show because, according to the New York Times, “Producers were more interested in the trial than the gruesome stabbings, in part out of sensitivity to the victims, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.” Though the show is apparently uninterested in expressing an opinion about the verdict, Toobin’s book made an unequivocal call: guilty.
