Scalia Next Challenge For Shakespearean Actor

Edward Gero, the actor portraying Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia in John Strand’s new play, “The Originalist,” researched the outspoken conservative Justice for more than a year to prepare his performance. The play opens April 26 at Washington D.C.’s Arena Stage. In December, Gero attended oral arguments at the Court, and then had lunch with Scalia, where, he tells New York Times reporter Adam Liptak, they discussed opera, civil discourse, and “growing up doing sentence diagramming.”
