Tech Firm’s Gov’t Contracts At Risk Over Alleged Discrimination

In a lawsuit, the Department of Labor claims that Palantir Technologies discriminates against Asian job applicants. The suit alleges that Palantir, which has been party to $340 million in federal contracts with the F.B.I., C.I.A., and the U.S. Army since 2010, routinely eliminates qualified Asian candidates during the resume screening and telephone interview process, and relied on an employee referral system that favored non-Asian candidates. Palantir has denied the allegations. “The Department of Labor relies on a narrow and flawed statistical analysis relating to three job descriptions from 2010 to 2011,” the company said in a statement. If the suit succeeds, Palantir could lose all current and future government contracts.
