Cooperating Offenders Fingered By Court Docs

According to a survey conducted by the federal judiciary, witnesses for the prosecution and cooperating defendants are routinely harmed or threatened with harm because of their cooperation. As a result hundreds of offenders and witnesses withdrew offers of cooperation out of concerns about their safety, according to prosecutors. The identities of those who choose to cooperate are easily obtained by accessing court filings and dockets. For example, plea agreements are often available for the asking.
