One firm’s research indicates that Cybercrime will cost the world $6-trillion annually by 2021, up from about half of that figure in 2015. Wi-Fi and mobile devices will account for nearly 80 percent of IP traffic by 2025, and BYOD will pose a major security threat to enterprises for the next eight years. Unemployment for cybersecurity techs dropped to effectively zero in 2016 and will remain at that level through at least 2021. Spending on cybersecurity products and services will exceed $1 trillion annually for the foreseeable future. Global ransomware damages will exceed $5 billion in 2017, up by a multiple of 15 in two years. Ransomware attacks on hospitals will quadruple by 2020. The number of cybersecurity engineers and analysts in the Washington D.C. beltway area is 35 percent larger than the rest of the United States combined.
