Employees of Compucom, a tech services vendor, are under FBI investigation for possible theft of sensitive information from Walmart. In a court filing, the F.B.I. claims Compucom employees searched internal Walmart correspondence for information that might give the vendor an advantage in gaining the retailer’s business. According to the filing, the information did help Compucom submit a winning bid. The scheme unraveled after a Compucom tech photographed an email about a Walmart disciplinary matter and sent it to a Walmart employee he was chatting with on an instant messaging system. The photo was subsequently forwarded by accident to a second Walmart employee who reported it to the company’s security department. Walmart went to the F.B.I. in September 2016. A spokesman for Compucom, which was acquired by Office Depot for $1 billion in 2017, said the company was cooperating in the investigation.

COMPUCOM is investigated for a fact that happened before Compucom/Office Depot acquisition from Thomas H. Lee Partners so I guess that Thomas H. Lee Partners , that sold Compucom to Office Depot already knew and for this reason they sold Compucom
in bad faith and Office Depot should sue Thomas H. Lee Partners . Anyways, Walmart dropped Compucom in 2015… Strange that the investigation didn’t start in 2015. Anyway what Facebook did with the cambridge analytica investigation was much worse and…nothing happened. but WHO IS Thomas H. Lee Partners? “Thomas H. Lee Partners Sued Over Refco Debacle. The trustee for Refco, a commodities brokerage firm that collapsed in fraud a few months after it went public in 2005, has sued Thomas H. Lee Partners, the private equity firm that controlled Refco, saying the firm should have known about the fraud before it sold stock.” https://dealbook.nytimes.com/2007/08/09/refco-bankruptcy-trustee-sues-thomas-h-lee-partners/
