Former AG Holder Considering Presidential Bid

He was planning to “walk off the field” with Hillary Clinton installed as president, former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said recently, but with the victory of Donald Trump, “it became clear relatively soon – and certainly sooner than I expected – that I had to get back on the field and be in effective opposition.” That includes, according to three anonymous sources cited by Yahoo News, considering a run for president in 2020. “I have a certain status as the former attorney general,” he told Yahoo News. “A certain familiarity as the first Africa-American attorney general. There’s a justified perception that I’m close to President Obama. So I want to use whatever skills I have, whatever notoriety I have, to be effective in opposing things that are, at the end of the day, just bad for the country.” He added: “Now is the time to be visible. Now is the time to be heard.”
