Home Depot Breach Could Be Largest Ever

Home Depot has confirmed it suffered a security breach of its in-store payment systems, and it may have put 60 million credit card numbers at risk. The incident may replace the 2013 Target breach, which exposed data of 40 million customers, as the largest ever. The breach may have affected any Home Depot shoppers visiting U.S. or Canada stores between April and early September, the company said. A security blogger was the first to report the breach, the New York Times reported, and before the company had even confirmed it, customers in Georgia filed a class-action lawsuit.
