Judge Tells Supreme Court To “STFU”

U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf – who during the government shutdowntook to his blog to say Congress can “go to hell” – has made another controversial post, this time chastising the Supreme Court for taking on the Hobby Lobby case, saying the Court should “STFU.” Kopf wrote that he fact the majority in the case, which ruled that closely-held corporations could opt out of providing contraception coverage under the Affordable Care Act on the basis of religious objections, were all Republican-appointed men who belong to the Catholic Church made the decision look “misogynistic” and “religiously motivated,” Kopf wrote “While ‘looks’ don’t matter to the logic of the law (and I am not saying the justices are actually motivated by such things), all of us know from experience that appearances matter to the public’s acceptance of the law.” Kopf advises the Court in his post to avoid hot-button cases next session.
