Jury Seated In Aurora Shooting Liability Case

A jury will be seated this week to hear a civil lawsuit against Cinemark, claiming the movie theater holds some liability for the 2012 mass shooting that ended in the deaths of 12 movie goers. The case argues that Cinemark should have prepared for the possibility of such a shooting and implemented better safety measures, like having extra security and security camera coverage. The shooter, James Holmes, is serving a more than 3,000-year sentence for perpetrating the attack. Cinemark lawyers say the shooting was unforeseeable and Holmes alone is responsible for the fatalities.
