Law Gigs Getting Easier To Find

Nearly 60 percent of 2014 law graduates have found full-time jobs that require passing the bar, according to the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar. That number is an improvement from the 57 percent of 2013 grads who had similar jobs at the same time last year. The most recent class of graduates also boast 11.2 percent who have found full-time jobs where a law degree is preferred, up 1.1 percent from the class of 2013. However, rather than any essential improvement in the job market, these numbers largely reflect the downtrend in law graduates overall; last year’s graduating class of 48,832 was 6.5 percent smaller than 2013’s 46,776 graduates – the largest-ever graduating class.
