Law Schools Claim California Bar Exam Is Too Tough

Only 43 percent of bar exam takers passed last July’s test in California, and only 37 percent passed in February. Law schools claim the cut-off point is too high, while others say the declining credentials of examinees is to blame. Or maybe it’s just the way millennial are used to getting information, which does not include intensive memorization and writing skills. Twenty law deans asked the state’s supreme court earlier this year to lower the grade required for bar passage.
