Lawyer Sentenced To 20 Days

After Michigan attorney Tim Barkovic finishes defending a man in a criminal trial, he will serve 20 days in prison for refusing to answer the judge’s questions. Macomb County Circuit Judge Edward Servitto asked Barkovic repeatedly to speak about a loud conversation that took place near a jury room, and Barkovic “defiantly refused to answer.” Barkovic flung his hands in the air, called the courtroom deputies “goons,” and said he was ready to go to jail, according to the judge.
