Legal Keyboard Gives Attorneys Literal Shortcuts

A new software, Citepad, introduces a keypad that would allow lawyers, law students, and paralegals to add commonly-used words, phrases, and symbols into documents with a single click. The program, Citepad, “automatically formats legal citation signals and eliminates up to 19 keystrokes that legal professionals type multiple times per day,” according to a statement. ”It solves the issue of awkward, mid-thought pauses and format citations, while also giving users the added confidence that their signals will be uniform and conform with citation formatting rules,” said Emily Montgomery, founder of Juristech, which developed the software. Citepad is available now for a Mac OS X download, with Windows and iPad versions to be released soon.
