Male, College-Educated Republicans Most Likely To Work On Vacation

A survey of more than 2,000 Americans found that well over half of those who reported taking a vacation worked during some of it. Forty percent reported checking email, 22 percent checked voicemail, 23.9 percent took calls, and 12.3 percent said they worked as normal. Smart phones, easy-access internet and laptops have made “working vacations” more normal. The RAND study found that men were twice as likely as women to work while on vacation, and the college-educated are 77 percent more likely to work than those with a high school diploma or less. And, interestingly, Republicans were 37.5 percent more likely to work during their vacations than Democrats.
