A Texas man is suing a woman he went on a date with for texting during a movie. Brandon Vezmar filed the claim, asking for $17.31, the amount he paid for a 3-D showing of Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2. According to Vezmar, about 15 minutes into the movie, his date started texting on her phone. She activated her phone 10-20 times in 15 minutes to read and send text messages, according to his petition. “It was kind of the first date from hell,” Vezmar told the Austin American-Statesman. When he asked her to text outside the theater, the woman left and never came back. Vezmar asked the woman to repay him for the cost of a ticket and she refused. Alamo Drafthouse CEO Tim League has offered the man a $17.31 gift certificate to settle the lawsuit.
