Microsoft is the recipient of a U.S. patent for software that makes it easy to create crypto tokens for different distributed ledgers. Creating and managing tokens is currently “difficult and cumbersome,” according to the application. The system offers templates with various controls depending on the type of token required, and provides a common interface for managing the tokens. The company has also applied for a patent on a system that can mine cryptocurrencies using data collected from people as they exercise or read an advertisement. According to the application: “Instead of massive computation work required by some conventional cryptocurrency systems, data generated based on the body activity of the user can be a proof-of-work, and therefore, a user can solve the computationally difficult problem unconsciously.” The system could use physical exertion to mine cryptocurrencies. Scanners connected to your head could even use brain waves sent out during mental exertion to mine for cryptocurrencies.
