Opinions On Women Force Law School Dean To Resign

Brian McCall resigned his position as an associate dean for academic affairs at the University of Oklahoma’s law school after his musings on women’s attire were published in the OU Daily, the University’s newspaper. He is of the opinion that wearing pants is a sin, and says that women should rarely if ever leave the home. In a chapter of a book he wrote, McCall stated that women are obligated to hide their natural curvature by wearing skirts, and wearing tight pants constitutes a sin against charity (toward men) as well as modesty. He will continue to teach classes on contracts, business law and corporate law, but decided to resign as dean in order to quell any controversy his opinion stirred. In an interview with USA Today, McCall said he was saddened to lose the opportunity to work with students simply because of his sincerely held religious beliefs.
