Photobucket Hackers Face Stiff Federal Charges

Two men who hacked into photo sharing website Photobucket and began selling user information and content, including images and videos, could get up to 20 years in prison. Brandon Bourret and Athanasios Andrianakis started a spinoff app, Photofucket, which allowed buyers to access the account information of Photobucket users. The two now l face federal felony charges ranging from conspiracy to wire and computer fraud. “It is not safe to hide behind your computer, breach corporate servers and line your own pockets by victimizing those who have a right to protected privacy on the Internet,” said U.S. Attorney John Walsh for the District of Colorado.
