Record Contradicts Republicans’ Gay Discrimination Lawsuit Fears

While the Senate makes history by passing legislation to ban discrimination against gay and transgender employees in the workplace, House Republicans have balked at the effort, citing a fear of unleashing a wave of lawsuits. However, two Government Accountability Office studies – including one released in July – found that the 21 states that already ban gay discrimination have had relatively few complaints.
