SEC Investigating Companies Over Whistleblower Treatment

The SEC has asked to see years of documents from a number of companies in a probe into the treatment of corporate whistleblowers, the Wall Street Journal reports. The agency has asked to see nondisclosure agreements and other documents that the SEC suspects may hinder potential whistleblowers from telling the government about illegal activities. The SEC has reached out to Congress recently expressing concern about such arrangements, and their potential to harm investigations into wrongdoing.
