Use Of Social Media For Class Notification

The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure require that class notice must be “the best notice that is practicable under the circumstances.” Circumstances have changed, we are reminded in a post from Quinn Emanuel, since early in the 2000s, when the idea of providing class notice through a social network site would have been “laughable.” It’s no longer that, but on the other hand it’s not accepted without qualification.
